Introduction | Marc Geller is an advocate and writer in the area of public and corporate policy related to electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and related source energy. Geller had an epiphany about transportation and energy after testdriving a GM EV1 in 2000. After being told by each auto maker that EVs were no longer available, he eventually leased a Ford Th!nk City electric vehicle in 2001. Geller helped organize demonstrations against Ford's cancellation of the Th!nk electric program in 2002. He co-founded DontCrush.com and Plug In America, which protested the crushing of electric cars and achieved historic agreements with Ford and Toyota to save their remaining EVs. He is on the Board of Directors of the Electric Auto Association and co-founder of the San Francisco chapter. These activities led to his (brief) appearance in the film Who Killed the Electric Car. He owns a 2002 Toyota RAV4 EV and 2011 Nissan LEAF. The opinions expressed here are his own, and not necessarily those of the organizations mentioned. |
