| Introduction | I was raised in an armed forces environment and completed my schooling from Germany and England. I studied Economics at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level in Delhi University followed by an MBA (Statistics and Marketing) from the Univ. of Texas at Austin. I have held various management positions in Indian and multinational organizations with my last assignment being as Sr. Vice President of Reliance Industries. Over the years I was very involved with various organizations / projects in the Nilgiris (Sullivan memorial, Nilgiris Documentation Center, NWEA, etc.)and worked extensively in the areas of environmental education, conservation, tribal welfare, alternative farming methods, etc. I am also the founder Trustee of One Earth Foundation. Core objective of One Earth Foundation is to “Help and empower communities, tribals and the future custodians of our planet – our children, to acquire knowledge, skills, values, experiences, and most of all the determination, which will enable them to act - individually and collectively - to solve present and future environmental problems.” |
