| Introduction | I am a telecommunications consulting engineer with over 40 years of experience planning and design broadband facilities. I started my career at the Federal Communications Commission in the Broadcast Bureau. I had the private consulting world working for firms supporting public safety and later early broadband two-way interactive cable television planner. In the mid-1970s I worked for the German government helping to plan and design a national backbone network to support air-traffic control facilities across the country. Upon returning United States informed Columbia Telecommunications Corporation in 1983 as a solo consultant working for local governments to define long-term network requirements. Over the years the company expanded with staff and client base. In 2002 next-generation family took over day-to-day operation of the company and I took on a new role as project manager of several our innovative projects. I'm currently working a wide range of broadband projects integrating both fiber-optic and wireless technologies for both state and local governments. |
