| Introduction | Born 1945. Studied Masters in English literature and Journalism. Started career as a newspaper columnist (1968) before joining a daily as its war correspondent (1971). After working in Newspapers continued, for decades, writing weekly columns in dailies on social issues. Later changed profession and retired as a publishing editor (2005). Presently, Director, BAHIRBANGA FOUNDATION, an institution working in the field of Inner Indian Diaspora studies; he is a former Adviser,National Literacy Mission, Govt. of India. Has had been involved in Inner Indian Diaspora Studies since 1976. His collection of newspaper columns and novels have been published by ranking publishers. Edited literary magazines and also was publishing editor for long years in a multilingual national publishing house. Has been awarded and felicitated by several organisations for his contribution in literary, social and cultural fields. Travelled to USA, UK, France, Bulgaria and Germany. His wife is a poet, son a music director in Mumbai film industry, daughter a finace executive. |
