| Introduction | Dona Blunt is one of those rare individuals who can shift from the analytical world of running her own business to the creative world or art. Her representational pastel paintings combine and reflect those seemingly divergent traits. Her landscapes and people seem familiar to the viewer with her realistic, yet artistic style. Dona was born in Boston but has lived in the Chicagoland area for many years. She draws artistic inspiration from Edward Hopper, a fellow New Englander, with his skill in capturing light in his paintings. Accordingly, Dona uses a bright palette that enables both color and light to be depicted in her work. The subject matter is drawn from her travels and neighborhood photographs. Dona’s painting are in several private collections; she accepts commission assignments. |
