| Introduction | I am a mom who works hard to stay at home with my two children, Avery (almost 5) and Grant (2). Since I was little I knew I wanted to have children and stay home with them. But, I didn't marry a doctor as my mom recommended, so that hasn't been easy. I used to be a fifth grade teacher. It was a job I loved, but I wanted to be with my kids more, so I quit. Now I babysit an almost-two-year old boy named Nate 50 hours a week. I also babysit an almost-two-year-old girl named Layla one day a week. While the kids are sleeping at naptime and at night, I write teacher books for Teacher Created Materials. I'm busy, but I like it that way. I am also involved in my local MOPs group. This fall, my husband and I started teaching Sunday school to the pre-schoolers at our church. I am fascinated by the way children learn, and I love to feed their curiosity with new experiences. At our house we do a lot of craft projects and take a lot of field trips. My goal is to expose my kiddos to the nature and art and beauty in the world around them on a daily basis. I'm also kind of a kid myself, so I love spalshing in puddles and digging in the sand alongside them. |
