| Introduction | For the past 30 years, LAUP has shaped students and brought hope and healing to urban Los Angeles. Since 1981, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship has been building bridges between the college campus and the inner city, sending over one thousand college students to serve the needs of urban communities, and ministering to tens of thousands of urban residents and children. LAUP has developed ties with over twenty community-based social outreach organizations, and since LAUP’s inception InterVarsity has established forty similar projects in other cities across the U.S. Today InterVarsity and the Los Angeles Urban Project continue this tradition of service, and hope to see it grow to have greater impact on both the campus and the city. |
