| Introduction | I have been living in rural West Sussex for 25 years firstly on the edge of Ebernoe Common, which is an English Nature reserve, principally comprising ancient woodland (Bats and Fungi)and subsequently (July 2011) to the edge of Fernhurst which is confusingly in Sussex but with a Surrey postcode. I have been watching birds for over 30 years and spent my early years in North Kent. Birding is my main interest but I'd describe it more as food for the soul as at times it has definitely kept me sane ! although intensity levels have varied over the last couple of decades and has ranged from the occasional twitch to periods of little interest (career has taken its toll !) I'm also keen on world birding initially fuelled in 1987 by several trips to Zimbabwe where my brother lives and then from 2006 fitting in around work, visiting overseas countries birding . Long may the birds survive !! |
