| Introduction | I've always struggled with understanding why it's not okay to share more of my ideas. I know it has something to do with the way we treat vulnerability, but I also think it comes from a puritanical mindset that says we should be ashamed of our most private thoughts. I like to publish my trains of thought, because I know I can't be alone in thinking them. But many of the ideas I have are not represented in mainstream media. I think being oneself is one of the most beautiful acts of resistance, and I'd like to participate in being bold enough to share honestly. In many cases, the pieces here are unedited. But I do go back through to see how I've changed, what ideas I would add more to. What ideas I've had chances to grow thanks to conversations and continued education. I am constantly reminded that mine is not the common experience either. But that's not shocking considering I'm a queer, neuroatypical adult living under capitalism. I hope you see something of yourself in my ramblings. I hope you feel less alone. I hope you feel something beautiful and familiar and empowering. |
