| Introduction | I am a student in two manners. Firstly I am a student of sociology with the University of Leeds researching for my Masters degree and looking into Karate In Society. I am particularly interesting in the work and social thought of Zygmunt Bauman and his conceptualisation of 'de-familiarized the familiar'. Secondly I am a student of shotokan karate, training at Kaizen No-Michi in Grimsby, which is apart of Japan Karate Shotorenmei GB and Ireland. I hold a nidan grade. |
