| Introduction | Artist’s Bio Amy Marrs is a San Francisco Bay Area based writer who is also a mom, raising two boys. She has occasionally written poetry and fiction since she was a kid but has never sought to have her work published. Artist’s Statement I write impulsively in moments of intense emotion, whenever, wherever. I write for no audience but to observe and more deeply experience the moments when life seems profound. My inspiration is kindled by anything from the seven wonders to a blade of grass growing in a crack of a sidewalk. I create poetry about the human experience that merges my connection with nature, wanderlust, and various philosophies. I write fiction that illustrates struggles between individual human values, instincts, and social problems. I also write for the general entertainment value. I am currently interested in writing “fan fiction” because it allows me to dwell in, explore, and expand a novel’s world after I have read the book. In recent years I have become more interested in science fiction, fantasy, and dystopian future writings. |
