| Introduction | I've been teaching writing and rhetoric at FIU for the last years. I'm also the English Department's web content manager and technology coordinator. Before I came to FIU, I taught at UM for about 2 years. Before UM, I taught at FSU during my MA in Creative Writing. Aside from teaching, I am also a PhD student in Texas Tech's Online Technical Communications and Rhetoric program. For my PhD, I'm looking at multimodal writing, new media, and media labs like the TTU MuLL or the UT Digital Writing & Research Lab. I'm interested in studying how colleges and universities can better support multimodal writing and promote literacy through teaching rhetoric. I have a lot of experience working with audio and video software, and I think my fondness for production studios eventually converged with my interest in teaching writing and rhetoric. Big fan of music, and am the singer/songwriter for a band called No Address. Currently, I'm working on a 5 song EP without No Address called "Over-bored" (to be released one day in the future). I'm still interested in writing poetry and manage to write a few dozen poems a year. I have a stack of rejection form letters if anyone wants to compare. |
