| Introduction | Some people blog about daily things in their lives. My purpose for my blog is a little different than others. I am looking for help for my 83 year old Father. In February of 1979, my parents bought a home in Florida, together they worked hard to pay the home off. My Mom passed away in January of 2009. That left just My Dad to maintain the home. sadly with his small Social Secruity check it is not enough for repairs that need done. The most important thing he needs is a new roof, there are leaks in every room of the house and our rainy season is quickly approaching. The carpet in the home is original which makes it 36 years old! My Dad uses a walker to get around and many times has caught his foot on the carpet where it is separating which caused him to fall. The bathrooms are both original plumbing, sinks, tub and shower, as is the kitchen orignal plumbing and sink. I moved in with my Dad after my Mom died to take care of him. The one thing that I can't do for him is help with the repairs as I am disabled and recieve SSI which is not nearly enough money to fix the much needed repairs in the home. |
