| Introduction | We live in the most beautiful place on earth: Southeast Alaska. Here the outdoors is not far from our doorstep and, frankly, that's just the way we like it. Black bears wander through front yards, bald eagles cackle in the trees and neighbors share fresh king salmon and crab with one another — often because their freezers are already full. Life blessed us with an amazing son, who is now three. Another member of the family is due in September. I've always been a runner at heart, and exploring the trails that extend above Juneau is full of perpetual discovery. I'm also a writer, photographer, mom and avid Alaskan outdoors woman. In other words, I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I'm interested in everything about the wild world. Whether it's alpine lakes or a saguaro desert, I want to see it. |
