| Introduction | Its not easy to start a company. Particularly when you are doing it on your own, while working full-time, with no outside funding............ My name is Leith. Share the journey towards launch with me, as I learn what works, encounter challenges, and navigate the competitive and dynamic world of Web 2.0 web site development. ............ It all started early 2006, when I had an idea. I had always wanted to start my own business (and had tried several times), but this time I was sure I had conceived a winner. I then spent months writing the specifications for the Web 2.0 site, going through potential business partners, trying to get funding, sourcing developers and designers, and now finally juggling managing the development of the site while working full-time. Development of the site will take many months, and then it will need to be marketed, enhanced, and run on a day to day basis. I wanted to keep a diary of this whole mad process, it being the most intense, terrifying, and thrilling thing I have ever experienced. It might even help, or at least amuse, other budding entrepreneurs and web enthusiasts. |
