Introduction	I am a graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, class of '09, with a degree in English, emphasis in poetry. I plan on continuing my education with a masters degree in creative writing and hope to eventually teach at the college level. If I can find a way to support my writing while sustaining myself, then I will be successful. I am an avid backpacaker/traveler. I try to write something everyday. I believe that my work, if anything, is genuine. I try to explore myself through poetry the way I explore the external world: thoughtfully, exuberantly, & honestly. I don't think that poetry can save the world, but I do believe that it allows us to be more conscienctious human beings, and as such, has the ability to make this world more tolerable by espousing a greater level of empathy, a heightened awareness of our coexistence, while simultaneously returning us the child-like sense of marveling that has often disappeared in so many adults.
