| Introduction | Since becoming pregnant, I've done endless research on city friendly strollers, hospitals, preschools, daycare, tight-spaced nurseries, baby budgeting, how to balance work/play/staying at home, surviving parenthood without a car, etc. Back home in Texas, these urban concerns would not have been as heavily weighted in my mind as they are now that I'm a New Yorker. And the amount of research needed seems to be multiplying just like our number of family members! To make this urban experience as enjoyable as possible, I've decided to start the SOUTHERN COMFORT PARENTS GROUP open to intending, expecting, and current New York moms and dads alike. I figure that there must be a number of newcomers just like my husband and I who are unfamiliar with raising a mega metro baby. The overall goal of the club is to build a network of friends who can share information about how to better navigate parenthood in the big city given all the inherent obstacles that you don't typically find outside The Big Apple's skin.
