| Introduction | Kristal Ambrose is an up and coming marine biologist studying marine plastic pollution in The Bahamas. Her career in the field began at age 17 when she worked as a dive master at a local dive shop and continued on to a local aquarium. She holds an associate’s degree of applied science in Fisheries Management and Aquaculture and for the past six years she has worked on several research initiatives as an intern assisting various scientists with cutting edge research. As an advisor of the Patch Reef Ecology project at The Island School, she is also responsible for conducting research on patch reefs with students of the Island School. Aside from teaching duties, she has implemented The Beach Plastic Project, a citizen science based initiative that studies plastic concentrations between windward and leeward beaches of South Eleuthera. |
