IntroductionBorn to a band of traveling Gypsies, I eventually married a barmaid from Oshkosh and became a wealthy door to door fork salesman. Sometimes I write stories and enjoy playing the ukulele on Tuesdays with my hardcore polka/metal band, "The Traveling Gypsies."
InterestsSpear fishing, sky diving, crocheting and an occasional trip to the National Museum of Stamp Collecting.
Favorite moviesEvery Indiana Jones movie, and my current favorite is "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Yeah, that's right, I like "Kingdom," so bite me; the 2009 Star Trek movie; all the Star Wars movies; anything by Roger Corman; most of the early Universal horror movies and just about any horror or sci-fi movie made before 1962. Anything with Vin Diesel, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood or Arnold S. I also like that weird "Wizard of Oz" movie with Zooey Deschanel - or maybe I just like Zooey Deschanel. Whatever.
Favorite musicBeatles, Creedence, Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Stones, Cheap Trick, Fountains of Wayne, Nada Surf, Lemonheads and all that 90s college rock stuff like the Meat Puppets and Buffalo Tom. Not too fond of today's music, except for maybe Fleet Foxes - they're awesome. I also like baroque, especially Bach, and classical, especially Mozart.
Favorite booksI love James Patterson, but I can't even read as fast as that guy writes anymore; anything by Vince Flynn or Brad Thor, although I sometimes get their books mixed up; anything by Clive Cussler; Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series rates up there with Tolkien, in my opinion; Dean Koontz' "Watchers"; Goldings' "Lord of the Flies"; Orwell's "Animal Farm"; Huxley's "Brave New World"; Rand's "The Fountainhead"; Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Pellucidar" series; Shelley's "Frankenstein"; Conan Doyle's "The Lost World"; anything by Michael Crichton; Jeff Dennis' "The Wisdom of Loons"; Wally Lamb's "I Know This Much is True." That's the short list.
