Mary
| Introduction | One of my earliest memories is of stomping up and down in front of our new house around my second birthday saying, "I want my room pink," over and over. I've always had strong ideas about style, and fashion has long been a fun part of my life. Growing up, my mother and I made many of my clothes and I learned a lot about quality fabrics and construction along the way. My uncle's gift of several trunks worth of antique family clothing introduced me to the beauties of antique textiles. In high school I planned to pursue a career in fashion, but I came to decide the business was too rarified for a small town girl from Ohio. I think of myself as a student of fashion and I study the beautiful clothes in magazines the same way I look at art. Putting together outfits has always been a creative outlet for me and I love seeing how other people put themselves together. I'm just coming out of debt from buying an old house six years ago and realizing there's a lot in my wardrobe that needs updating. |
