| Introduction | I've been a homeschooling mom since 1995. This is my claim to fame. Yep, it's my identity, my joy, my satisfaction (my frustration, my aggravation, my preoccupation). I have a BA in economics but I have never worked in the field because my oldest was 2 when I graduated. Nevertheless, I'm here to tell you that an education is never wasted. Though I've never worked in my field of study,I have worked over the years. I've been a dental assistant, a substitute teacher, a pre-school gymnastics teacher, a special ed para-professional in the public schools, a clerk at JC Penney and I just started a new career at Home Depot. Come by and I'll sell you some trees. Our eldest is a college graduate with a wonderful career that she loves and a wonderful husband whom she loves. Our second is a high school senior this year. He has autism so his journey has been a little different than his older sister's. Our youngest is eleven. By this time we have the skills and experience we need to do everything perfectly with her (HA!) It's great to have one launched. It gives us hope for the other two. |
