Introduction At the age of 31, I was told by my GP that I had prediabetes and was on my way to Type 2. I was very confused because I didn't fit the Type 2 profile: I ate healthy, exercised daily, and was a healthy weight. I did have a sweet tooth, but I wasn't the type to snack on candy bars or eat like a Gilmore girl. Unable to speak with a diabetic nutritionist or endocrinologist under the NHS, I put on my propeller hat and dove right into the diabetic literature. This a personal diary about managing diabetes with a low-carb high-fat (LCHF) diet, questioning standard diabetic treatment, research and self-experimentation, and embracing a more holistic, natural way of life.
