| Introduction | In the summer of 2011, I graduated with my Masters in Architecture from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. My graduate thesis project, to design a post-disaster temporary shelter, was chosen for many reasons, which include: my interest in natural disasters, the need for a shelter which is designed for its users and the surrounding environment, and personally viewing people living in FEMA trailers four years after hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. My dream and ultimate goal is to make the proposed shelter design a reality. By doing so, I will be using my knowledge to help improve the displaced individuals transition from destruction to normalcy. Currently I am seeking employment, in architecture, within the St. Louis, Missouri area. I hope you enjoy my blog and graduate thesis project.
