| Introduction | Mercedes Zoé Carrillo is the purple lady behind The Purple Mix Tape. She’s a writer and editor born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with Colombian and Venezuelan roots as well. She considers herself as aspiring flapper with Victorian tendencies, a 1980's enthusiast, a music lover, and a Batman geek. She’s also obsessed with words and books; nostalgic for old Hollywood; a pop culture observer; and loves Paris, Buenos Aires, New York, and architecture (especially Art Deco). In her dreams, she jams with Gustavo Cerati and Prince. In real life, she’s dedicating more time to playing her Casiotone MT-40 and working on not being intimidated by her acoustic guitar.
