Introduction I retired in 1991 after serving 30 years in education, first as a high school mathematics teacher and later as district mathematics coordinator. My wife and I now travel, dividing our time between New York, Colorado and Florida -- and any other location that catches our attention. I wrote for many years an education column for the local Schenectady Gazette, edited the New York State Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development monthly newsletter, and retired while chief grant writer for the school district. When not writing, I occupy my time with travel, gardening, photography, golf, woodcarving and trying to set my friends straight on social issues, religion and politics -- usually without success.
