| Introduction | Currently, I am a Teaching Artist with the South Chicago Art Center. I worked with the McCormick Foundation from 2010-2014 as the School Programs Educator for the Civics Program. My responsibilities there included facilitating school visits for the Freedom Express mobile museum and developing educational materials for teachers and students to supplement the Freedom Express visit day experience. Prior to my work with the Civics Program, I worked in the education departments at the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art at Northwestern University and the Art Institute of Chicago. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in art education from Georgia State University in 2006. After working as an art educator in an elementary school in the Atlanta Metro area, I decided to attend grad school and focus on museum education and the role of museums in educating the public. I received my Master of Arts in art education with a concentration in museum education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009. |
