| Introduction | ~a mother's journey~ from DEP, to bootcamp, Nuke school, out in the fleet, through deployment and beyond as my son travels on his trek as a Sailor in the US Navy. I have been on this journey since early November, 2010~ the day my son signed his contract with the US Navy. When he signed his paperwork his journey began. Now he is a Petty Officer and a Qualified Nuclear Operator. He is currently serving on the USS Carl Vinson out of San Diego. He survived Nuke school!! And I did, too! So our journey continues. For me, it is a journey of pride, fear, love, sorrow, joy ~ and mostly one of letting go. Join me as I traverse this challenging sea. |
