| Introduction | I'm another one of those funny monkeys running around modifying my reality to keep a smile on my face. In more practical terms I'm a sculptor who at this point is trying to make a living putting smiles on other peoples faces by making beautiful work at reasonable prices. | Interests | This is a pretty long list but I'll try to be succinct. Art ( that is to say, what I/we do), history (how we got to where we are), philosophy/religion/psychology (why we do what we do), the environment/sciences/geography/nature (things that make me smile and say "aaahhh"), politics/community/activism (my home, my city, my people). I pretty much find life damn interesting. |
| Favorite Music | I'm fond of sharing a Louis Armstrong quote-"There are only two kinds of music-the good music and the bad music..." If it is done with passion and integrity it's probably worth listening to. However, to be more specific you'll hear me listening to anything from Patsy Cline to Tool to Eric Satie to Scott Joplin to The Meatpuppets to Rickie Lee Jones to Calexico to, well you get the picture, don't 'cha? |
| Favorite Books | I don't have nearly enough time to read as I would like; I've read perhaps a third of the couple hundred books on my shelves. I'm currently (in the last couple of months/weeks) reading "Swooning Beauty" by Joanna Frueh, "Uncontrollable Beauty" edited by Bill Buckley and David Shapiro, and Thomas Cleary's translation of Sun Tzu's "The Art of War". |
