| Favorite Books | I'm currently reading Educated, by Tara Westover. It's the remarkably true story of a young girl from an ultra conservative Mormon family who is kept out of school because, her father claims, "it's the government's attempt to control us." Courageously she leaves her survivalist family at age 17 and goes on to earn a PhD from Cambridge. True story: when the Holocaust was brought up in history class one day, she had to ask a friend what the professor was talking about. It's a page turning story of an incredibly strong girl/woman who learns the hard way about the power of education to open eyes and change lives. Read it. |
