About me

Gender Male
Occupation Until fairly recently I was an Education Welfare Officer in London
Introduction Like Benjamin Britten and Radio 1 hip hop DJ Tim Westwood, I come from Lowestoft in Suffolk. I lived in Lowestoft until I was 18 when I went to the University of Essex (where I got a BA in Philosophy and Politics) and then the University of York (where I got an MA in Politics). After university (in 2000) I began working for the charity Community Service Volunteers in Hertfordshire, first as a Volunteer and then as a Volunteer Coordinator working with troubled children. Two years later in 2002 I became an Education Welfare Officer in London working with children refusing to attend school. In 2006 I resigned so that I could do some travelling abroad. I am white, British, 6 feet 1 inch tall, about 13 and 1/2 stone, an athiest, and single.
Interests As you can tell from the weblog I am developing an interest in travelling. I am also a bit of an expert on the late comedian Peter Cook of whom I am a very big fan.
Favorite Movies I enjoyed watching 'The Odessa File' recently.
Favorite Music Not a big music fan as such, although I am casually partial to David Bowie.
Favorite Books I only began reading fiction about two or three years ago but since I've started I've found I like books by Graham Greene or witty books by people like Tom Sharpe or Kingsley Amis and P G Wodehouse. Tom Sharpe is probably my favourite of the lot. I also like the novels of Frederick Forsyth although I am less keen on their actual author.
