| Introduction | I've been told by several people, both as a compliment and a criticism, that I have an "unusual, mathematical" way of looking at human emotion and relationships. Well, I sometimes think this way even when I don't mean to, and I don't pretend that this is *the* best way of looking at life. I think everyone has something unique to offer with their own thought processes. But anyway, I just thought I'd use this blog to share what my own "unique" way of thinking has told me thus far about life, as well as to share some random tidbits of science and philosophical ideas I find along the way. In my work life, I am a biogeochemist who studies methane emission from permafrost, so my blog title is kind of a play on words. I'm new to blogging, so I don't know whether I'll end up posting mostly life-advice or if I will write more objective, information-based posts. Hopefully it will be a combination of both.
