| Introduction | I am a midwife and will be working with Health Poverty Action in Sierra Leone for the next 12 months. This has been made possible through the Vodafone World of Difference Programme. I'll be based in Bombali District, where I spent 6 months last year volunteering as a Midwife Trainer through VSO. Sierra Leone currently has the highest maternal and infant mortality rates in the world. Over the next 12 months I will be working to train midwives, support and train other maternity health workers and work with Traditional Birth Attendants to improve health for women and babies. |
