| Introduction | I'm a polytheist devotee of Lord Dionysus and Lady Diana, and a priest in the Coven of the Whitesnake. I've been a Pagan since I was 12 years old, when I was called by the goddess Diana through her sacred denizen, the Moon, to explore the dark mysteries of life. In college, I studied history and classical mythology, where I began to see the connections between the Dionysian Mystery Cults of Ancient Greece and the modern Goth scene. My practice now is a post-Goth fusion of madness, intoxication, tragedy and ecstasy that honors the cycles of the Moon and the Rebirth of the God of the Thyrsus and the Kantharos. The name of this blog, "Lanx Satura" comes from Latin and means "a dish overflowing with fruits." As the grapes on the vine are plucked and pulverized to create potent wine, so I hope this blog will be a place where my thoughts on polytheistic practice can ripen and grow. |
