| Introduction | I am a Board-certified psychiatrist with over 25 years' experience diagnosing and treating mental illness. While I subscribe to, and am heavily influenced by, the Medical Model and consider myself an expert psychopharmacologist, I also have a degree in psychology and I believe that the best approach to life and life's challenges is a philosophical one and I tend toward including proven psychotherapeutic techniques in the treatment of individual patients. A significant portion of my clinical efforts is devoted to patient education, an absolutely essential aspect of pharmacologic treatment, especially psychopharmacologic.
