Introduction | I'm a young for my age, almost-50 year old gay man originally from Massachusetts, but living in San Francisco, California. I'm a university professor who does research on the topic of the public's perception of risk and preparedness for various natural disasters... hence the name, "Disasterman". I have traveled extensively around the U.S. and the world, and travel is my greatest passion. One of the main goals I have for this blog site is to begin sharing some of my extensive travel journals from all my trips. Although I live in the gay Mecca, I find many aspects of the gay community here, and the ultra liberal politics of this area to be very disturbing. This has not won me a lot of friends, but in the last few years I have seen the far left become every bit as frightening as I always felt the extreme right was. Looking to meet some interesting and diverse new people to add to my small but tight circle of friends. |
