Marathon Rookie Ramblings

Introduction	I am a middle school science teacher. I took up running only two years ago, at age 46. At age 47 I ran the local GMAA Labor Day 15K as my first race ever. I’ve stayed away from the 5k’s because I’m not at all a “speed runner” (although I have run some 5k fun runs). Last year, due to a vacancy, I agreed to coach my school’s cross country team. I loved the experience and having the ability to share my enthusiasm for running with the kids. Now, at age 48 I plan to make the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon my first marathon.
