| Introduction | In 1996 I moved from the U.K. to San Francisco with my newly minted Ph.D in molecular biology. I was seeking friendship, fun, love and scientific glory, and found three out of four of the above. Geekydaddy and I married in 2004, and rapidly expanded our family to include 2 cats, 1 hairy dog, and 2 children. I woke up one day to find that I am now a 39 year old mother and scientist, trying, like so many of us are, to "Do It All"; raise happy kids, have a fabulous career, and even have some good times along the way. |
