About me

Location St. Jo, Mo, United States
Introduction I have been telling stories with photographs most of my life. In 1971 I used a brownie box camera purchased for a quarter to record the last known image of my father, I was eight. As a seventh grader he knew without a doubt that I would be a newspaper photojournalist. A long time ago A worked for the Slidell Sentry-News and the Bogalousa Daily News and freelanced for the AP and UPI. Since June of 1987 I have worked at the St. Joseph News-Press. Some of the memorable moments I have documented include The flood of 1993, Olympians Wes Barnett, Dennis Snethen and Pete Kelley at the Atlanta games, the Bradley Arn shooting and thousands of quieter moments with smaller headlines mixed in between. It has often been those quiet moments in the lives of ordinary citizens that have meant the most to me. The world of journalism is changing daily from every conceivable angle. That means newspapers must change the way we think about journalism so our grandchildren won't learn about us from history books.
