| Introduction | My name is Penny Fleming, and I am a 9th-12th grade English Literature/Composition teacher at Waverly High School in Waverly, KS. I also teach Audio Visual and Film, Speech, Drama and Theater, and I coach high school volleyball. Waverly High School is situated in a rural community of approximately 600 people. It is a 1A high school (the smallest classification in the state) and enrolls approximately 75 students in its high school. I am a proud and honored teacher of bright, intelligent and outstanding students, but our state government is constantly making us do more with less. I am taking up the cause to bring awareness to the nation, and even the world, that those educated in small schools can do BIG things. When I'm not holding a torch for all things positive for education or coaching the best volleyball team EVER, you can find me at a motocross track cheering on my son, #522!!! |
