About me

Introduction I was born and raised in the Southwest of France. A region were people's lives revolve around food : gathering it, preparing it, eating it. My family was an especially good example: we would pick wild porcini mushrooms and chestnuts in the fall, get a whole goose from which my mom would make all sorts of patés and confits not to mention fois gras, in the spring and summer my dad would bring back freshwater trout and crawfish from the river, we would only eat local grass fed beef, lamb and pork and our Sunday family gatherings held at my grandparents consisted of a 6 course lunch with wine pairings all finely and timely orchestrated by my grandmother. After some traveling, I settled in New York City for almost 4 years where I also started a family. I was immediately astounded by the rich culinary diversity the City has to offer which I tried to replicate at home. I focused mainly on Indian, Thai and Japanese cuisines trying to stick to the most authentic techniques and preparations. After that I went back to France for about 3 years. Since August 2008, I live in the beautiful scenic Northern Virginia and I am tasting every bit of it.
