| Introduction | I am Raul, I grew up in Spain and Graduated as a Civil Engineer in 2008. After the financial crisis that year I decided to travel while working in the hospitality industry through Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand before moving to Canada in 2013. I studied Culinary Arts at Vancouver Community College and became a Red Seal Certified Chef in 2019. I have a wide range of experience within Vancouver in the culinary industry and in 2019, I took part in BC’s Culinary Apprentice of the Year Competition. I also have experience working in Spain at Akelarre - a 3 Michelin Star restaurant in San Sebastián. I became the Executive Chef at Hart House in January of 2022. My upbringing in the Iberico region in the south of Spain, and my desire to remain local and seasonal influences my menu designs. I am in love with the outdoors and traveling and I spend my free time with my wife and two young children. |
