| Introduction | I graduated from the Nursing Allied Health Center. Where I earned a degree in Dental Assistant and Applied Science. My husband and I met my junior year in high school. We married my second semester in college two months after our first child was born. The following year, I held my dad's hand as he took his last breath at life here on earth. Two weeks later, I landed my first job in a dental office. At the age of 23, liver cancer smothered my life. A resection along with countless doctor appointments later, I walked through a miracle covered in a nationwide prayer. I am now a 15-year cancer survivor. My kids are 8 years apart: sophomore in college and sixth grader. We gained the family dog somewhere in between. The Lord called me out of the working world to home life when my second child was 9 months old. My real job title is a "stay home mom" at the Murphy Lodge. It was in those first few years home, I wrote my first book while my daughter watched Lion King on her portable blue DVD player. I am currently in the editing phase of my second book, serving as the outreach coordinator at my church MOMS group and cheer on other cancer-related people/families any chance I get. |
