| Introduction | Hi y'all, I am an aviation geek since my early childhoold and a private pilot since 1991, when I started flying gliders.
I added licenses for powered gliders in 1996, for powered flying in 2003 and for microlights in 2012. I am based at Uetersen airfield (EDHE) near Hamburg in Northern Germany, where I fly with the LSV Pinneberg and the Aero Club Hamburg. Whenever I can, I try to take flying vacations, so far having done tours across large parts of Europe, the US, the Bahamas, New Zealand, Australia, Southern Africa etc. When I am not "flying for real" (and not working to sustain this :-)) I love simulating complex flights on my PC as realistically as possible, ranging from gliding to global long-range ops. I intend to use this blog to tell the story of my own flying, both of current flights and of flights in the past - thereby also making it a kind of "Flying Diary" for myself. Occasionally I will probably venture into other aviation and flight simulation related topics ;-) I'd love to hear from you, and am always keen to swap stories and tips on flying and flight simulation! |
