| Introduction | I am a middle-aged woman, widowed in 2024, three cats, two grown sons, three natural grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-spirit. I work in local government. I’m an Oregonian, having lived here from age 4 to 18, and after a hiatus in Washington, DC and overseas in the Middle East and Africa, I returned to Portland, my favorite city, at 38 and have been here ever since. While I love the Pacific NW, sometimes my heart aches for the Mediterranean and North Africa. I love Irish music and play the folk harp in a very rudimentary fashion. I think civics education will help the country become stronger. |
