| Introduction | I am Chef Chaya-Ryvka owner of the theLivingVision.com. I am a raw food chef, and well known as a raw food pastry chef. I am also an observant Jewish Woman. It was during a year and a half stint living in Tsfat, Israel that I was moved to be a voice for health in the Jewish Kosher world. I happened to be in Seminary learning about the Mitzvah of guarding our bodies, while at the same time joining wonderful families for their lavish Shabbat meals of mainly meat and creamy (margarine based) pareve desserts. The contradiction seemed clear to me but invisible to the community I was in and most of the Jewish/Kosher world I soon discovered. My current career as a raw food chef is completely due to this experience. This blog is my first step in reaching out to share what I have learned about healthy eating, Jewish thought and life inspirations with the Jewish Kosher world. I will be sharing new recipes, health food tips, and insights appropriate to the season in the Jewish calendar. |
