| Introduction | A journalism/mass communication class, Global Impact of New Commmunication Technologies, was the inspiration for this blog. When I first started blogging, I explored online educational activities for elementary-school children and youth programs that engage technology for youth development. The class was one in a series for a master's-level certificate program in Technology and Communication at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I finished in May 2005, approximately 20 years after I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School, also at UNC-Chapel Hill. I love my blog so I'm keeping it! But I've also started writing about my general observations in addition to online and tech activities. My media habits include websites that I encounter while doing research as well as near-daily doses of the Wall Street Journal and my favorite comic strips, which include Cathy, Zits, Dilbert, For Better or Worse, Funky Winkerbean, and Kudzu. |
