Introduction	Before she became a real writer, Julie wrote financial and strategic plans for a living. Now Julie focuses on picture books and middle grade fiction, including historical fiction. Her first publication was a short story for grown-ups in the Writers Abroad: Short Story Anthology 2010. Raised near Washington, DC, Julie swore never to live in NJ. She’d seen the Turnpike and taken the train through Trenton. Instead, with her husband, she moved to Chicago; London, England; Trinidad and Tobago; and ultimately Houston, TX for good. Inevitably, the Garden State beckoned a few months later. Having discovered NJ’s beautiful autumn and rolling hills, Julie now vows not to live anywhere else (at least for the next few years). She lives in Chatham, NJ with her husband, their three children and a doodle called Pepper. Julie loves chai tea lattes, walks in the woods, Scrabble, and West Cork, Ireland.
