| Introduction | I had wanted from a little child to be a teacher. In June, 1888 ( guided and inspired by E.L. Case the loved teacher) I took at Downieville, the Board of Education examination for a teachers certificate and received a credit sufficent for their 1st grade certificate. By 1891 I secured the principalship of the Sierraville School. On the strength of my SJNS diploma I continued my education and graduated from the University of California in Berkely in 1899. |
| Interests | I'm a whiz at mathematics "for a girl". I was somewhat of a child prodigy in the subject of reading as my first memory of school is reading from the 5th or 6th McGruffey reader classs. I became the unofficial historian of the First Christian Church in Miami in 1945. |
