| Introduction | Welcome to Prarthana Nargundkar"s world of photography.A picture is worth thousand words. It captures memories, emotions, people and Life in a snapshot to look back and rewind memories.Often while traveling with a camera I arrive just as the sun slips over the horizon of a moment, too late to expose film, only time enough to expose our hearts.My portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph. Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created. It is a major force in explaining man to man. It is photography itself that creates the illusion of innocence. Its ironies of frozen narrative lend to its subjects an apparent unawareness that they will change or die. It is the future they are innocent of. Fifty years on we look at them with the godly knowledge of how they turne dout after all - who they married, the date of their death - with no thought for who will one day be holding photographs of us. |
