IntroductionIt's always so hard to describe yourself to a little non-responsive box. Here goes. Amalthea is....a 20 something woman pursuing an advanced degree in an advanced field...intensely curious, always, about everything it seems like...bisexual, sexually curious, and perpetually aroused...suffering from some kind of sleep disorder...a part time amateur artist: be it oil painting, photography, decorating, sketching, whatever I have time to get my hands on...a kitty mommy and in love with my two darlings (a pet/animal activist in general)...not a very good writer, but it makes me feel free...a believer in adventure and defying your fears...an agnatheist :)...a reforming video game and book addict...a voracious reader, and a lover of multi-syllabic words...many many things, but mostly, ever-evolving, passionate, and a believer that 'all knowledge is worth having'.
InterestsWhen Schmendrick frees the unicorn from her cage at Mommy Fortuna's camp, Rukh says: "Okay, Schmendrick, I give up. Why is a raven like a writing desk?" This riddle is a reference to Lewis Carroll's novel Alice in Wonderland. Alice is asked the same question when attending the mad tea party.
Favorite moviesThe Last Unicorn: Explains the name. (Amalthea is the name of a Greek goddess; Schmendrick may have chosen the name as a sly reference to the one-horned goat that was often misrepresented as a unicorn.) Fight Club, The Princess Bride, Pan's Labyrinth, Memento, Anchorman, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Hero, Labyrinth, Sin City, this list could just go on and on and on and on.
Favorite musicThe Postal Service, Paramore, A Fine Frenzy, Disturbed, Genesis, System of a Down, Eminem, Dashboard Confessional, basically whatever strikes me emotionally and lyrically. Except 99.9% of country, screaming rock, and super heavy rap.
Favorite booksAnything by Christopher Moore, The Kushiel series by Jaqueline Carey, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, and various other things. Those are just my top 3 FICTION choices.

If you could peer far enough into the night sky, you'd see a star in any direction you looked. When would you sleep?

Whenever I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, or dawn, whichever came first.
